Blossom – Self-Harm and Suicide Prevention Service

Blossom is a compassionate, non-judgmental service supporting children, young people, and adults who are self-harming or at risk of suicide. Rooted in lived experience and professional expertise, Blossom offers a safe space to explore painful emotions, reduce isolation, and build hope.

Through a mix of 1-to-1 support, group sessions, therapeutic activities, and wellbeing-focused workshops, we empower individuals to understand their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with life. Our work extends to families and professionals, offering advice, training, and guidance to those supporting someone in crisis.

With hubs in rural and coastal communities across the Humber region, Blossom is proud to walk alongside people on their journey toward healing – with dignity, respect, and belief in change.

Celebrating Funding, Donations & Recognition

We are thrilled to share a series of exciting developments for Blossom and The Hub, thanks to the incredible support of funders, local partners, and our community.

 Funding Awards

  • The National Lottery Community Fund has awarded us £300,000 over three years (from June 2025), enabling Blossom to grow our self-harm and suicide prevention support across the Humber region.
  • KCOM awarded £5,000 (May 2025) to deliver digital inclusion activities for children and young people, helping them feel more connected and confident online.
  • CHCP provided £2,500 (May 2025) to launch a Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Café at Blossom.
  • Arco kindly donated £500 to help us extend the café’s reach and continue offering a safe, creative space for young people to connect and thrive.
  • Sport England’s Movement Fund awarded £7,120 (May 2025) to deliver meaningful, movement-based activities for adults and older adults at The Hub – supporting wellbeing through connection and physical activity.

Community Donations

  • Hessle Open Gardens generously donated £2,500 (July 2025), supporting the development of a calm outdoor space at The Hub, where we’ll sell coffee and cake and provide a quiet refuge for those who need it most.
  • We were deeply moved to receive a donation from Corrine, who led the powerful “Walk Into the Light” in memory of her son and others lost to suicide. Her support helps us continue offering hope and healing.

Recognition & Awards

  • We’re proud to be winners of the Chairman’s Award, and honoured to be shortlisted for the BBC Radio Humberside Make a Difference Awards and the Time2Volunteer Awards by HEY Smile Foundation. Thank you to everyone who’s supported our journey.

What’s Next?

We’re getting ready to open our doors to children and young people in Driffield – expanding Blossom’s reach into new rural communities.
Watch this space… exciting things are coming.
