OUR VOLUNTEERS

The Humber Wellbeing Hub is ran by a passionate group of volunteers. If you’re passionate about mental health and have great organisational skills, this is your chance to make a difference. Help us plan events to promote our service, raise funds, and celebrate national days. Please contact us if you’d like to join our group of volunteers.

I have been fortunate to work as a volunteer with Blossom since January. Immediately the people within the organisation make you feel as part of the team, not ‘just’ a volunteer. The support provided is excellent, training is to a very high standard, plus supervision meetings every other month, the co-founder makes sure she gets to know each and every person who volunteers.

Blossom; provides many skills, whilst enhancing skills the volunteer already has. The clients are from varied backgrounds, with different needs. Whilst Blossom; provides support within a non-judgemental environment, there are many activities throughout the week, from a silent book club to crafts and many more. Blossom; is a safe place anyone can use, even if they just need space to be alone. I would strongly recommend being a volunteer with Humber wellbeing.

VolunteerTestimonial

Volunteering at The Hub and the Blossom Centre has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m proud to be part of a team that offers a safe, welcoming space where people feel genuinely listened to and supported. Whether it’s through one-to-one conversations or group activities, we help individuals feel less alone and more empowered to take steps toward wellbeing. Seeing the positive changes in people who come through our doors is what makes it all so meaningful.

VolunteerTestimonial

I love doing a placement with Blossom because they really care about their clients and their therapists. There’s support available if I need it, but it is not forced on me either. I love that they provide pre-therapy support so I’m reassured that the clients I see as a trainee are coming prepared for therapy and have already had support. They are also all really nice people!

TherapistOn Placement

Having a placement at Blossom has been such a wonderful experience for me. The service they provide is both important and needed in our community. Being able to provide therapy here means that I get to work with a team who are passionate, knowledgeable and supportive and I feel so lucky to be part of the team.

TherapistOn Placement

I've been on placement with Blossom for a few months and my experience has been very positive. The staff are warm, friendly and supportive, and I can sense how much they care about their work, which I find motivating. Their care for my wellbeing also really shows. There is the freedom and flexibility for me to work within my modality, and at the same time there is a real sense of 'team work', trust and 'big picture' about the place, like we are all doing our bit towards a common goal. My only issue is the sound levels between rooms, which can be a little distracting when working. This is due to the limitations of the building and is out of Blossoms control. Overall, Blossom is a good place to develop and gain the necessary experience as a trainee and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

TherapistOn Placement

I've really enjoyed my 6-month counselling placement at Blossom. It's been such a positive and valuable experience, and I've learned so much during my time there. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone on the team.

The placement gave me the chance to grow in confidence, build on my counselling skills, and work with a variety of clients. The atmosphere at Blossom is warm, encouraging, and focused on making a real difference, which made it a great place to learn and develop.
I’m genuinely grateful for my time at Blossom and will carry everything I’ve learned with me as I continue on my journey as a counsellor.
